Based in Kuala Lumpur, Ms. Ismail’s focus will be on driving the growth of Credit Suisse’s IBCM business in Malaysia, a market which represents an important part of its successful Southeast Asia franchise. In this role, she will be charged with broadening the bank’s relationships with Malaysian clients, including entrepreneurs and corporates, as well as delivering the full range of Credit Suisse’s integrated bank offering in line with its leading position as the Entrepreneurs’ Bank of Asia Pacific.
She will report to Pankaj Goel and Rizal Gozali, Credit Suisse’s co-heads of IBCM, Southeast Asia.
Ms. Ismail brings a strong client network and over twenty years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets and corporate fund raisings to Credit Suisse. She joins the bank following seven years at Maybank Investment Bank Berhad, where she led a successful local franchise as Co-head of Malaysia Mergers & Acquisitions.
Malaysia is an important part of Credit Suisse’s Southeast Asia franchise, with an established presence in the market since 1995. As one of the most active foreign investment banks in Malaysia, Credit Suisse has advised on numerous marquee and innovative transactions. These include recent block placements in shares of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (USD 610 million and USD 132 million) and of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (USD 113 million), as well as a USD 387 million primary placement for Maxis Berhad.
