Enviro Asia Launches INTELIAQ Air Quality Monitoring System

INTELIAQ Air Quality Monitoring System

ENVIROVERKS Malaysia, the leading service provider of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) management in the country launched the Enviro InteliAQ System today which saw the group entering into a collaborative partnership with Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration will see the highest guest floor of Alila Bangsar’s studios and suite being upgraded to the Enviro Allergy Friendly rooms.

“This first-in-the-market collaboration will be a game changer for the hospitality industry here in Malaysia as we help Alila Bangsar to assure that guests and staff are exposed to fewer pollutants and contaminations overall,” says Nitesh Malani, Group CEO of ENVIROVERKS Malaysia.

The Enviro InteliAQ System powered by uHoo features a remarkable engineering of nine air quality sensors packed in a tiny device the size of a coffee mug. It is powered by a high-performance ARM-based processor that helps building or facility managers measure and manage indoor air quality.

The ENVIRO Allergy Friendly Rooms provides guest with luxurious comfort and protects against outdoor contaminants that happens during hotel room conversions. These allergy friendly rooms will see smart sensors installed to provide real time data analytics which will then be converted into actionable remedies for guests and the building occupants comfort.

“Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur is excited to collaborate with Enviroverks and to be the first hotel in Malaysia to provide an allergy friendly guestroom floor. Alila Bangsar is Alila Hotels & Resort’s first hotel in Malaysia and we are proud to have upgraded all guestrooms on level 40 including the 252 sqm Alila Suite,” says Kamal Munasinghe, General Manager of Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur.

Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) or Building Related Illness (BRI) has been a cause of concern for most building occupants who fall ill due to poor indoor air quality. “Recent innovations in low-cost air pollution sensors has enabled a new generation of air quality monitoring devices that provides actionable high-resolution data at a fraction of the cost of traditional monitoring systems,” says Dustin J. Onghanseng, co-founder and CEO of uHoo International.

“Air quality used to be something that people rely on manual method for information on. Today, technology with IoT has improved dramatically that sensors are now shrunk so small that you can monitor the quality of air you breathe in your homes or offices. This is important because we spend more than 80% of our time indoors.”

Enviro Group Asia has also entered into a collaborative distribution and research and development agreement with uHoo International which will see the group expanding its regional footprint in the building sciences and environmental engineering sector. Malaysia is the first country to have launch InteliAQ before this is introduced in other regional markets.

The group’s partnership with uHoo International will also give rise to new indoor air quality sensing technologies that will pave the way to a wealth of data that can be used to better manage indoor air quality. The onset of Internet of Things ‘IoT’ will also see potential industries such as healthcare facilities, education institutions and retail spaces being more committed to the well-being of their building occupants by adopting cost-effective technologies and remedial services.
