For the first time in Southeast Asia, Singapore-based Ticketing / eWallet Cashless Solution iGo has announced the rollout of event QR-to-QR payments alongside their RFID (wristband/cards) solutions. Giving customers more options to go cashless, iGo publicly launched at this year’s popular WHISKY LIVE event held in Singapore last weekend.
For locals and tourists alike attending large-scale events, this means they can easily download the app, purchase ticketing, set up credits, and have the freedom to use the balance in a host of activities around Singapore.
Available via iOS the multi-faceted iGo application streamlines the world of ticketing and payments into a single platform for consumers by featuring:
- Events & Venue Listings
- e-Ticketing (web & mobile app)
- Mobile eWallet for F&B purchases
Paid tickets for events such as festivals, gala dinners, expos, or charity events, iGo handles everything seamlessly and uses mobile payment gateways to allow for one-touch ticket purchases with paperless tickets arriving to email inboxes in seconds.
SDP Asia, Managing Director, James Kane says, “We do not feel event-goers should be limited by having to download a cashless app as their only option in events, making cashless transactions at large events with RFID wristbands or cards provides a solution to the masses.
“We created the iGo app as a simplified extension of our RFID Cashless event services, whereas iGo allows customers to retain, plus add to the balance in their iGo accounts for new events, F&B spend, all the while keeping them up-to-date with everything that’s happening in Singapore.
Importantly for organisers, iGo provides an end-to-end solution as the app starts in the ticketing process by acquiring the customer as a new user, servicing them in event or venues, and letting them carry unused balances forward post-event in the iGo eWallet platform. Therefore, organisers are able to engage and build a long-term relationship along the consumer journey by offering them additional ‘experiences’ with brands, discounts, loyalty, F&B outlets, services and much more,” Kane adds.
Regional expansion plans are already in the works, and the iGo app is due to be rolled out in Thailand by early 2018.
According to Ericsson’s 2016 Mobility Report, Singapore leads in the regional chart of smartphone and mobile broadband subscriptions population penetration with more than 100 percent. The push for the future of cashless transaction will be a step forward in technological progress to retain the city-states position as the financial heart of Asia.
