National research and development centre in ICT, MIMOS, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ahmad Rizan Ibrahim as President and Chief Executive Officer effective 1 July 2017. He succeeds Datuk Abdul Wahab Abdullah who retired in June after leading MIMOS since July 2006.
Ahmad Rizan, 54, has more than 28 years of multi-disciplinary experience in management and strategic consulting, including more than 20 years in senior leadership, operational roles, sales, marketing, business development as well as channel and alliance development.
An active and well-regarded personality in the Malaysian technology sector, Rizan has a strong background in technology operations management, having played a commercial and strategic role in many of his previous appointments.
Besides having a proven track record in evaluating, managing and driving technology-related investments and corporations, Rizan is an expert in solution delivery to clients in the areas of ICT strategic planning, technology design and implementation, package and custom development and implementation, operations management, e-business and project management; serving both public and private sectors, locally and overseas.
Prior to joining MIMOS, Ahmad Rizan was the Head of Government and GLC for SAS Institute, a USD3 billion privately-held USA-based company; where he was responsible for the overall management of sectoral clients, client relationships and customer interfaces.
