The Johor Bahru City Square’s Texas Chicken restaurant is only the first planned for the Southern Peninsula, with an opening in Southkey Mid-Valley Megamall being planned for the near future.

“The Johor Bahru City Square is the kind of location every restaurant dreams of,” said Dato’ Jaya Tan, Chairman of Envictus International Holdings. “The new Texas Chicken will be right in the heart of the city, close to corporate offices, local and international colleges, and just minutes from the customs and immigration checkpoint between Malaysia and Singapore.”

Dato’ Kamal Tan, Group Chief Executive Officer for Envictus Group agrees. “This is an active and busy city scene here, filled with people who appreciate great-tasting chicken along with superior service and convenience. We look forward to exceeding their expectations at Texas Chicken.”

Most popular are their Spicy Chicken which is double-marinated and hand-breaded to ensure spicy deliciousness in every bite. Another popular item is the all-American Honey-Butter Biscuits which are made from scratch and freshly baked all day long. Other favorites includes the juicy crunchy Chicken Tenders, Mexicana Wrap, Spicy Tex Supreme burgers, Jalapeno Bombers, Strawberry Shortcakes and so much more.

Envictus Group already operates multiple Texas Chicken restaurants in Malaysia’s Klang Valley, Selangor, Penang, and Negeri Sembilan regions.

“This was an opportunity that was identified and cultivated by a veteran franchisee,” said Tony Moralejo, Executive Vice President of International Business for Texas Chicken. “Envictus Group has a proven track record of success in Malaysia, and we’re certain we’ll see more of the same in Johor Bahru.”

“Together (with Envictus Group), we will continue to enhance the total customer satisfaction for Malaysians,” he added.

The restaurant is expected to fit 111 guests at one time with the size of 1,123 square feet.
